Uganda

Uganda is home to ten magnificent national parks, each offering its own unique landscapes, wildlife, and adventure opportunities. These protected areas form the backbone of Uganda’s tourism industry, providing visitors with the chance to experience some of the world’s most breathtaking natural wonders.

Tourist Sights In Uganda

Murchison Falls NP, Bwindi Impenetrable, Kibale National Park, Kidepo Valley NP, Queen Elizabeth NP, Mgahinga Gorilla NP, Lake Mburo NP, Entebbe, Rwenzori Mountains, Semiliki National Park.

• During the high season, there are more travellers, yet Uganda remains a relatively undiscovered destination, ensuring that visitors rarely encounter large crowds. In contrast, the low season offers fewer tourists and presents an excellent opportunity to take advantage of lodge discounts and special offers.

• Weather Patterns in Uganda
Uganda generally experiences more rainfall during the low season and drier conditions in the high season. However, in recent years, seasonal patterns have become less predictable, with occasional rainfall during the dry months and sunshine during the wet season. Regardless of when you choose to visit,

• Uganda enjoys abundant sunshine throughout the year.
For those traveling to higher-altitude regions, such as Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, it is essential to prepare for cooler temperatures, particularly at night.

Unforgettable Wildlife Encounters
Uganda is home to over 1,000 endangered mountain gorillas, found only in the mysterious jungles of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. We offer tailored gorilla trekking experiences that not only bring you face-to-face with these gentle giants but also support local conservation and livelihoods.

• Explore Kibale National Park, just a short drive from our base at Lake Nkuruba, for one of Africa’s best chimpanzee tracking adventures. Alternatively, visit Budongo Forest for intimate primate experiences and rare forest walks. If you’re lucky, you’ll also spot rare golden monkeys in Mgahinga — a true primate lover’s dream.

• The Call of the Wild: Big Five Safaris
For classic African safaris, Queen Elizabeth National Park and Murchison Falls National Park deliver unforgettable moments. Go on game drives across Kasenyi Plains, track the famous tree-climbing lions of Ishasha, and cruise along the Kazinga Channel teeming with hippos, crocodiles, and birds. In Murchison Falls, witness the dramatic force of the Nile squeezing through a 7-meter gorge.

• Birdwatching Paradise
Uganda is a haven for birders, with over 1,000 bird species, including the elusive shoebill stork, vibrant turacos, and hundreds of Albertine Rift endemics. Our tours often incorporate birding hotspots around the Rwenzori foothills, Semuliki national park and Queen Elizabeth Park, where wetlands, forests, and open savannas meet to create a birdwatching paradise.

• Beyond Wildlife: Culture and Community
What truly sets karangura adventures apart is our deep connection to the people and places we visit. We don’t just pass through communities — we partner with them. From visiting traditional coffee farms at the base of the Rwenzori Mountains to engaging in cultural exchanges with remote tribes, our tours are built around meaningful interaction and sustainable impact.

• Whether you’re hiking around the crater lakes, hiking to hidden waterfalls, or relaxing at our karangura eco campsite, every experience is designed to respect and preserve Uganda’s heritage.

  • Our Story
We began with humble walking tours around the breath-taking grass root walks of Fort Portal and the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains. As locally rooted guides, inspired by our deep love for the land, wildlife, and communities we grew up in, we started by sharing simple but meaningful nature experiences with early visitors to our region.
