Day to Day Program

• Day 1: Entebbe to Queen Elizabeth National Park

  On this day your guide will pick you up from Entebbe International Airport and transfer you to Queen Elizabeth National Park in Western Uganda. You will have lunch in Fort Portal and then proceed to Queen Elizbeth national park in Kasese; you will have chances to see the wildlife/animals like elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs etc. We then do an evening sun set boat cruise on the beautiful Kazinga channel where you will see hippos, crocodiles, water birds, and many others .Dinner and overnight at the lodge.Night at king fisher lodge.

  Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking and transfer to Bwindi

  After early morning breakfast, get ready to go and track chimpanzees in Kalinzu forest reserve stay with the apes’ for at least one full hour and then return to the lodge to have a mid-morning breakfast. Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National park.on the way you can see village life, plantations, monkeys and many other beautiful features. Arrive at the park, refresh, have dinner, and overnight at the lodge.Night at Buhoma rest camp or Ruhija Rest camp.

Day 3: Gorilla tracking Day in Bwindi

After early morning breakfast, set off for gorilla tracking with your packed lunch. Have the tracking gears with you ready to track the rare mountain gorillas in the remote forests of Bwindi. Your guide will transfer you from the lodge/hotel to the starting point for briefing thereafter you will be able to start this activity which will take you 4-8 hours then return to the lodge, refresh and have an evening cultural experience of the Batwa/Bakiga dance, dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 4: Bwindi to Entebbe

After early morning breakfast starts your journey to Entebbe International AirPort, have  an enroute lunch in Masaka, stretch your legs and take photos at the equator, thereafter proceed to the airport.

Gorilla trekking points to Note: Gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (Uganda) Trails are steeper and less accessible, hence high levels of Energy is needed. Treks are often 2 to 3 hours each way (but can be more Or Less) and involve hiking through dense forest and traversing steep ravines and mountainsides, often in damp conditions. However, all this adventure is worthwhile for a glimpse of one of nature’s finest spectacles. There is a minimum age of 15 years on gorilla treks.

What to wear and bring with you on your gorilla trek: With changeable weather conditions and dense forest vegetation, it is advisable to take layers of protective clothing. We recommend wearing the following:

• t-shirt
• long-sleeved top
• warm fleece/jumper
• thick trousers
• thick wool socks (and gaiters preferably)
• strong lightweight, waterproof walking boots
• hat with brim
• garden gloves to aid scrambling up banks.

And carry a small rucksack with:

• water
• packed lunch and snacks
• binoculars
• camera/video camera with spare battery, memory cards or film
• light-weight rain Mac / poncho

Walking sticks are available at the Park headquarters and porters can be hired for approx. US$20. A sealed plastic bag around the camera/lenses will help keep them dry on the trek. Pockets are useful for valuables and spare camera batteries/lenses etc. as all other equipment must be left with porters approx. 200 meters away from the gorilla groups.
